How to Clean your Mac Pro, Mac Mini, and iMac

Updated: Mar 25

We all want your most loved Macs to stay as polished as possible. One routine you could practice is keeping it clean regularly. Having your devices cleaned does not only maintain the quality of your Mac but it also keeps you safe from unwanted bacteria! There are a few steps you should keep in mind to make sure that you do not cause any damage to your Mac. Follow these steps below: 1. Shut down your Mac and unplug the power cord along with other connected devices.

2. Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer's exterior.

TAKE NOTE: Make sure that you avoid getting moisture in any openings. Don't spray liquid directly on the computer. Don't use aerosol sprays, solvents, abrasives, or cleaners containing hydrogen peroxide that might damage the finish.

How to clean the display of your iMac?

1. Dampen the cloth that came with your iMac—or another clean, soft, lint-free cloth—with water only, and then wipe the screen.

2. Use a cleaner intended for use with a screen or display. Don't clean the screen of your iMac with a cleaner containing acetone.

TAKE NOTE: Never spray cleaner directly on the screen. It might drip inside the display and cause damage.
